Introduction

In autumn and spring, the human body is exposed to a special load: immunity weakens, chronic ailments become aggravated. Both adults and children often suffer from acute infectious diseases, which cannot be dealt with without certain medications.

“Immunosin” belongs to the group of simple and affordable, but effective drugs, and is used as an immunomodulatory and antiviral agent with low toxicity.

Description, composition and form of release of the drug

The drug was created for the prevention of viral diseases and for the treatment of existing diseases, and is approved for use in both adults and children from 3 years of age.

The active ingredient is methisoprinol, additional ones are magnesium stearate, corn starch, povidone. Tablets  of the Belarusian release (production – Italian), round, with a line on one side. Color white or grayish. Available in contour packaging, strips, jars and bottles.

Already from the first day of admission, there is an increase in the number of antibody-producing cells and anti-herpetic antibodies in the body, the clinical manifestations of the disease decrease, and the risk of relapse decreases. The drug is approved for use in patients with problems with blood circulation (including chronic), angina pectoris.

Pharmacokinetics

The preparation is well soaked up, pharmacological action is shown in half an hour and lasts till 6 o’clock. It is metabolized quickly. The half-life is one hour. Complete excretion by the kidneys occurs within a day or two.

  • Infectious diseases of the mucous membranes and skin (caused by the herpes viruses of the first two types; shingles, chickenpox).
  • Papillomavirus infection, genital warts.
  • SSPE (subacute sclerosing panencephalitis).
  • Immunodeficiency states (in patients with a weakened immune system).

Recommendations for the use of tablets

It is prescribed for consumption 3-4 times a day, after meals. Tablets can be both swallowed and chewed. You can drink both ordinary and mineral water without gas.

You can not drink tea, coffee, juices and other drinks. The treatment course takes from 5 to 14 days, can be re-appointed, but with a mandatory break of 7-10 days. Treatment can last from 1 month to six months in case of urgent need.

  • For lichen, herpes and chickenpox, adults are prescribed 2 tablets 3-4 times a day, children – at the rate of 50 mg / kg in 3-4 doses (morning dose). The course is until the symptoms of the disease disappear (a week or two).
  • In complex treatment with weak immunity, adults are recommended to take 2 tablets 4 times a day (treatment course – from 2 weeks to 3 months), children and adolescents – a dose of 50 mg / kg in 3-4 doses (21 day), or 3 courses of 10 days with the same dosage.
  • With panencephalitis: the first 8 days should take a dose of 50-100 mg / kg every 4 hours, then a week break is taken. Up to 9 such courses can be assigned.

Features of use for children

For ease of use, small children are allowed to crush the tablets, or dissolve in a small amount of liquid. Babies under one year of age are not prescribed the drug.

During pregnancy and lactation

Women who are carrying a child and breastfeeding, this drug is not prescribed, because it is not completely clear how dangerous it is for the baby.

Overdose

You should not increase the recommended dose without a doctor’s recommendation: this will not alleviate the condition, but it can cause poisoning and other unpleasant consequences. In case of overdose, flush the stomach and contact a medical center for help.

Side effects and contraindications

In general, the drug is well tolerated even with prolonged use. Most often, there is an increase in the concentration of uric acid in the urine and blood serum, but it is insignificant.

Much less common: headache, dizziness, insomnia or drowsiness, muscle weakness, nausea, vomiting, joint pain. If one or more symptoms occur, stop taking and contact your doctor as soon as possible.

Interactions with other drugs

Xanthine oxidase inhibitors, diuretics and other uricosuric agents, when taken simultaneously, can increase the level of uric acid. Immunosuppressants reduce the effectiveness of the drug.

It is allowed to prescribe together with antibiotics, antiviral and other etiotropic drugs.

Special instructions for the drug

With prolonged use of the drug, it is recommended to check the function of the liver and kidneys every month. First of all, this applies to patients with acute liver failure and high levels of uric acid.

The drug is contraindicated for use in patients with arrhythmia, hypersensitivity to the components, gout.

Storage rules

The drug must be stored in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding +25 degrees, away from children. Tablets should not be wetted and exposed to direct sunlight, frozen.

Do not throw the medicine into the sewer if it is not allowed in the instructions – this can cause significant harm to the environment.

Best before date

May not exceed 2 years. The use of the drug after the expiration date does not bring the desired effect and can cause complications.
