Introduction
The thorn is a keratinized wart, the appearance of which provokes the human papillomavirus.
Wanting to get rid of it, a person goes to the doctor, takes medicine and does not hesitate to seek help from traditional medicine. The latter, by the way, are no worse than chemicals capable of coping with the disease.
How quickly can it be cured with the help of folk remedies?
Spike is a non-classical superficial callus. It has a deep root, which causes not only discomfort when walking, but also pain. Therefore, treatment must be comprehensive.
It is not enough to remove the growth – in order to avoid relapses, it is imperative to use both immunostimulating and antiviral drugs along with traditional medicine recipes. Treatment should be a course, one or two procedures will not be enough.
Classical treatments
There are several methods for treating this problem. For example, the use of celandine juice, vinegar and garlic.
Celandine
Celandine is successfully used in the fight against skin diseases and pathologies of a benign nature. The flavonoids, vitamin C and essential oils included in its composition stop the spread of infection and necrosis of the affected skin areas.
In order to get fresh juice, rinse the freshly picked plant and pass it through a meat grinder, squeeze the resulting slurry through 3 layers of gauze, pour the juice into a dark glass bottle and put it in a cool dark place for 10 days.
From time to time, the cork should be opened and excess air released. Cauterize the spike twice a day and the little growth will fall off soon.
Vinegar
Mix 2-3 drops of acetic acid with flour (a tablespoon is enough), apply to the affected area and apply a tight bandage on top. Change it every two days.
The result will be visible in a week. There will be a slight burning sensation and this is normal, if you feel a lot of discomfort – wash your skin and try another recipe.
Garlic
Cut a fresh clove of garlic into thin slices, pour in a spoonful of vinegar and let stand for 3-4 hours in a cool place. Place the patch on the wart, secure with a band-aid, and leave overnight. It will take 4-5 procedures.
What else can be done at home?
Look in your first aid kit, refrigerator or window sill – there will definitely be something that can help. This will save you a lot of money.
Nettle
Nettle acts gently and painlessly, but only a fresh plant can be used. Rinse young nettles in running water, chop in a blender and apply the cooked gruel on the heel in a thick layer.
From above, cover the leg with a leaf of burdock or plantain, fix the compress with a wide bandage and put on a tight sock (preferably woolen) on top. Repeat the procedure every night before going to bed until the wart falls off along with the root.
Aloe and Kalanchoe
- Soak your leg in a bowl of hot water and baking soda.
- Attach a freshly cut leaf of Kalanchoe or Aloe (with the pulp to the skin) to the wart and fix it with a bandage or plaster.
- Repeat the procedure 7-10 times.
Celery
Celery juice can be taken orally (40 ml before each meal) or lubricated on the leg. First, apply a drop of vegetable oil to the spike.
Lemon juice
With lemon juice, you can make healing baths. In two liters of warm water, add the juice of one lemon and 5 drops of essential oil (tea tree, fir, juniper). Keep your feet in the bath for half an hour.
Sea salt
Sea salt has an antibacterial and antiviral effect, improves immunity and maintains the overall salt balance in the body.
- Wash the affected area and wipe the skin with hydrogen peroxide.
- Dip a cotton swab in salt, apply it to the wart and rub the salt in a circular motion without touching the skin nearby.
- It is enough to make 10-15 movements.
- Repeat rubbing every 3-4 hours. The growth will dry out in 5-6 days.
If the skin is tender and irritated quickly, use a saline solution. Dissolve 3 large spoons of salt in a liter of water, heat the liquid, moisten a cotton cloth and apply to the skin at night. From above, you can apply a tight bandage. In the morning, wash the skin with water and leave to rest until the evening, the course of procedures is a week.
Dandelion juice
In the summer months, you can easily find fresh dandelion, in winter you can use the root from the pharmacy.
- Cut a bunch of stems to make about 10 tablespoons of raw materials, put in an enamel bowl, pour half a glass of milk and bring to a boil. Wrap with a towel and leave to infuse in a dark, warm place for several hours. Apply a cotton pad soaked in the decoction to the spike for 10-15 minutes every day.
- Grind 5 tablespoons of root in a blender, pour boiling water (250 ml) and boil over medium heat until the water evaporates. Add a couple of tablespoons of honey. Transfer the cooled mixture to a glass jar and store in the refrigerator. Apply a thick layer of cream on the wart, and after half an hour, rinse and dry the skin. Do this until the wart disappears completely.
Potato compress
Peel and grate fresh potatoes, apply to the sore spot, cover with cling film (or special paper for compresses), secure with a band-aid and keep the compress all night. In the morning, the skin should be washed, and in the evening a new compress should be applied.
How to use traditional medicine correctly: general rules
- Before applying the ointment or compress, be sure to steam the heel, otherwise the keratinized cells will not allow the active ingredients to fully act on the spine. Hold the sore leg in a bowl of hot water for 10-15 minutes, throwing a handful of salt or soda into it, and then carefully remove the upper part of the growth with a pumice stone or disinfected nail scissors.
- While the course of treatment is in progress, the leg should not be lubricated with emollient creams and other cosmetic preparations.
- It is not recommended to tear off the wart with your hands, wait until it falls off on its own.
- During treatment, do not visit swimming pools, saunas, baths and water parks.
- Treat the wound left after removing the spike with disinfectants.
- Before using this or that remedy, do an allergy test: apply the mixture or juice on the skin of the wrist and wait 15-20 minutes. If you do not feel a deterioration in health and no external signs appear either (rash, swelling), you can use the recipe further.
Conclusion
Folk remedies are effective, affordable and time-tested. They help soften the skin, remove the root and heal the wound, but you need to use them carefully, after consulting with a dermatologist. Continue to take precautions and lead a healthy lifestyle – this will help you forget about skin diseases.
