What are candidiasis?

Warts are called lesions of the skin and mucous membranes in the form of growths. The outgrowths resemble cauliflower inflorescences, they are red-brown in color, have a stalk (pointed) and are flat (do not protrude above the level of the epithelium).

Types of growths (pointed, flat)

The growths are divided into 2 types – pointed and flat. The first one has the following characteristics:

• have the form of small papillae;
• there is a small foot;
• soft structure;
• varied color – from whitish to brown;
• rise above the skin;
• diameter from a couple of millimeters to several centimeters;
• place of localization – external and internal genital organs: the entrance to the vagina, vulva, clitoris, perineum, labia;
• can be located not only in intimate places , affect the armpits and oral cavity.

The second type of neoplasm looks like this:

• development and growth is directed inside the epithelium of the mucous membrane of the cervix;
• elevation above the level of the skin is not observed;
• the formation takes place in the deep layers of the epithelium, which makes it difficult to diagnose;
• has a chronic form;
• occurs mainly in young women;
• has a high risk of cell transformation into a malignant neoplasm.

Reasons for the appearance

HPV can be asymptomatically present in the body for a long period, it manifests itself only in case of weakening of the immune defense. There are several reasons for the appearance of genital warts:

• ignoring the use of condoms during intercourse;
• the period of pregnancy and lactation (hormonal levels change);
• inadequate diet (diet, starvation);
• HIV infection;
• nervous and physical exhaustion;
• stress;
• lack of vitamins and minerals;
• untimely treatment of chronic and infectious diseases;
• promiscuous sex life.

The main route of transmission of HPV is sexual, but there are exceptions – oral, anal (with non-traditional sex), from mother to child, as well as household (when the virus enters the bloodstream through cuts on the skin).

• the presence of foci of growth of warts (they merge with each other, forming a large area of ​​the lesion);
• discomfort in the form of burning and itching in the places of neoplasms;
• the unpleasant smell that comes from them;
• a constant feeling of moisture (due to secretion of growths);
• irritation and inflammation (in case of damage to the formations);
• spotting from the vagina (with flat warts);
• pain during urination and intercourse.

Diagnostics

Diagnosis of genital warts and the root cause of their appearance – papillomavirus infection includes the following methods:

• examination of the affected areas on the gynecological chair (if flat warts are suspected, the doctor uses a gynecological mirror);
• colposcopy (the study of growths using a special device – a colposcope);
• taking a smear from the cervical canal (it is a painless procedure, the gynecologist scrapes the cells with a medical spatula);
• cytological examination of a smear (study under a microscope) – makes it clear whether there is cervical dysplasia;
• histological examination (preliminary puncture of tissues is done, after which they are studied for oncogenicity);
• determination of HPV using PCR diagnostics;
• also shows a blood test for STDs – HIV, syphilis and others.

Features of treatment in pregnant women

The opinions of doctors about the need to treat warts in pregnant women differ. Some believe that neoplasms are caused by hormonal changes and will resolve themselves after the birth of the baby. And consequently – do not require intervention.

But others insist that a child can become infected with HPV during passage through the birth canal, so it is recommended that genital warts be removed in the last trimester of pregnancy. The only thing that all points of view agree on is the inadmissibility of prescribing antiviral drugs to a future mother, because they have high placental permeability and can get to the baby. Virus Treatment

Unfortunately, it is impossible to get rid of the human papillomavirus forever. Modern methods of treatment can help to avoid relapses and remove external manifestations. But no one can guarantee that condylomas will not independently spread through the mucous membranes and skin areas. For HPV to be in dormant mode, a strong immune system is needed.

The beam of the device is directed strictly to neoplasms, therefore, the risk of affecting neighboring healthy tissues is minimized.
• Radiosurgical removal of genital warts . Manipulation is carried out using high-frequency radio waves. Does not cause bleeding, does not precede the formation of scars. The procedure lasts about 20 minutes, the radioknife does not directly contact the affected areas, so the epithelium around the condyloma is not affected.
• Thermocoagulation . It is the application of high temperatures that burn the wart. The removal session is quite painful, so you can not do without local anesthesia. At the site of condyloma, after burning, a scab is formed, which disappears after a few days, and under it the skin or mucous membrane is regenerated. Thermocoagulation requires special skill of the doctor who will carry it out, because if you touch healthy tissue, a visible scar will remain.
• Method of chemical destruction . This is the use of special chemicals that burn neoplasms. These include the following drugs: Solcoderm , Kondilin, Bonafton. Treatment with folk remedies at home

Traditional medicine therapy is mainly aimed at strengthening the immune system, however, there are several recipes that help remove tumors without surgery.

This drug is only suitable for neoplasms on the skin, it can simply burn the mucous membrane. For treatment with iodine  , you will need to apply it to warts 2 times a day – in the morning and in the evening until complete recovery.
• Onions and garlic – perfectly burn neoplasms, have antimicrobial properties. You will need to squeeze the juice from the products, and then lubricate the warts with it for 10 days. The main thing in this method is the frequency, the application of juice must be done as often as possible – up to 12 times a day.
• Propolis is a natural antibacterial and antiviral drug. It is used externally in the form of a tincture, which can be made at home or bought ready-made in a pharmacy. Cauterization of growths is carried out by applying tincture to them 3-4 times a day. In parallel, it is advised to take a propolis drug inside 20 drops, dissolving them in 100 g of water.
• Walnuts with cranberries – to prepare an immune-strengthening composition, you will need to chop cranberries, apples and walnuts in equal amounts. Put the mixture on fire, add 100 ml of water and half a glass of sugar, cook until thickened. Cool, pour into jars. Eat every day 1 teaspoon before meals until the warts disappear.
• Sticky tape is a rather unusual way. It is required to stick adhesive tape on a paper basis on warts and leave it for a week. Avoid getting the sealed area wet. After 7 days, the tape is torn off with a sharp movement, and the wart is filed with a nail file for grinding the nail plate. The manipulation may have to be repeated 2 times.
